List of Upcoming Games #2

2. Batman: Arkham City

As with Battlefield 3, what got me interested in this game was it's predecessor, Batman: Arkham Asylum, a game that was better than what anyone believed. It set a new standard for it's genre, one that has yet to be surpassed. But perhaps City can be the game to beat out Asylum.

The story picks up about a year after the ending of Asylum, with Batman having access to all the devices and gadgets he had at the end of the first game. It is currently unknown as of yet whether or not there will be a bonus for having Asylum game data already saved to your Hard Drive. The reason behind the name of the game is because a small section of Gotham city is set aside to house the villians captured, due to the fact that the Arkham prison is in no condition to hold them. Two-Face, a mainstay villain of the Batman series, decides to attempt to hold a public execution of Catwoman, springing Batman into action and thus beginning the game.

The gameplay seems to be similar to the gameplay from Arkham, with a few cosmetic adjustments and small changes to the combat system, such as an easier combo system and easier traveling between high and low locations. One of the biggest changes to the game is the introduction of Catwoman as an playable character, with her own unique skills and over 15 extra hours of gameplay. There is also an unconfirmed rumor there will be a free DLC containing an entire storyline for Catwoman, similar to the extra Joker levels in the PS3 version   of Asylum. In addition, it was revealed today that Deadshot will be one of the villains in the game.

There are currently two "higher" editions of the game; the first is a Gamestop pre-order exclusive, with free access to an exclusive map. The second is a Collector's Edition, containing the game, a statue of Batman, a collectible art book, a digital download of the Arkham City soundtrack, an animated film, and exclusive character skins and challenge maps. The price of this is currently unknown, but it believed to be $80, though could also possibly be $100.

I will update my blog with updated gameplay mechanics and my review once the game releases. Until then, always be prepared, and keep a watchful eye into the night.

List of Upcoming Games #1

Here is the first of my most anticipated games slated for release soon.

1. Battlefield 3 : The very first Battlefield game I ever played was Battlefield: Bad Company. After playing this game, I fell in love with it and decided to try the rest of the series, picking up copies of Battlefield 2(which, sadly, is no longer playable online), and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Ultimate Edition(Because you aren't a true fan unless you get the biggest edition you can find).

Now I've been reading and watching trailers of Battlefield 3, I'm in love. I ran out and pre-ordered it @Gamestop as soon as I could, so I could snag that free upgrade. So why do I love it? The graphics are gorgeous, and the Frostbite 2 system makes it much, much more than your average game. With any and everything being destructible, prepare yourself for fantastic visual effects, along with added strategy; you have to be ready to get out of the way of a crumbling building at any time. This is what sets Battlefield 3; rather, the actual series, apart from other shooters.

So, what does pre-ordering this wonderful game give you? You get a free upgrade to the Limited Edition, IF you pre-order at Gamestop. The Limited Edition gives you free access to the first DLC being released, Back to Karkland, which contains remastered maps from Battlefield 2, along with an exclusive gun and early unlocks. Not only that, but you also get a Gamestop exclusive: A free weapons pack, containing an exclusive weapon, an exclusive attachment, and early access(meaning you start out with the gun, instead of unlocking it.)

If you have not already, I would strongly suggest you go out and pre-order this game right now. If you have, then I hope that you can survive the wait; I know I'm close to death.

Here is a link to a trailer for it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGCp8mKHL1Y

About Me

This is basically a test to see how it looks and how it works, but.

My name is Dylan Edwards. I'm 18 years old and I'm currently enrolled at the University of Alabama, planning on double majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics.

I'm making this blog because I am an avid gamer, and would like to share my rating and opinions on games that I've played, and to preview some that are coming out.

Anyway, I'll mainly be using Twitter to communicate my blog posts, so if you want to keep track of them, follow me @DylanLee15.
